Project Description

We partnered with Tellus Media, our European production partner, and BS Creative here in the U.S. to produce a branded documentary for Xcellerator, part of the Swissfinity Group.

The film follows the graduating class of 1975 from the U.S. Naval Academy as they cycled from Apalachicola, Florida to Annapolis, Maryland. The ride marked the anniversary of their graduation and served a larger purpose: raising funds for charity and honoring the bond they’ve carried for 50 years.

Xcellerator sponsored the ride, including one of its participants, Dr. Carl June, a world-renowned leader in cancer research. As an organization dedicated to advancing cellular gene therapy toward a cure for cancer, their involvement added deeper weight to the story.

We spent three weeks on the road with the riders, documenting the journey from start to finish. Long days in the saddle, quiet conversations between old friends, physical strain, reflection, and purpose. Our team embedded with the group, capturing the full arc of the experience as it unfolded in real time.

Project Services

Rooster Rooster led production on this project, providing full camera support and serving as Director of Photography.

From the outset, we collaborated with Tellus Media and BS Creative to shape the visual identity of the film. Together, we defined a style that felt grounded and intimate while still honoring the scale of the journey. The goal was to balance cinematic landscapes with personal, human moments,  long miles on open roads paired with quiet conversations and reflection.

We provided all camera equipment and built a production approach that could move with the riders day after day. Working in a constantly changing environment across multiple states required flexibility, efficiency, and a clear visual plan.

Our role extended beyond execution. We helped develop the overall look and feel of the piece, ensuring the story maintained visual consistency from the first mile in Florida to the final stretch into Annapolis.
